Sail of Faith: A Christian Blog for Sailors.

Welcome!

In this Blog, we will combine Christianity and Sailing in a way that has never been done before.  We will bring the highest standards of Christian thought to sailors.  When most sailors go to Church, they may be the only sailors in their congregation, and there may be little content applicable to sailors in sermons.  The Sail of Faith blog will serve Christian sailors with content that is directly focused on their needs and interests and grounded in biblical scholarship.

Act of Faith is a common expression in Christian spirituality, describing trusting in God’s direction and relying on the Holy Spirit to guide one’s life, rather than relying solely on personal effort.  It represents a posture of surrender, allowing divine grace to move you forward.

The name of this blog website, “Sail of Faith,” is a metaphor of the expression, “Act of Faith”.  By thinking of Christianity as a “Sail of Faith”, Christian sailors can set the sails of their souls to catch God’s wind or spirit.  “Sail of Faith” means aligning one’s life with God’s will, using faith as sails to catch the “wind” of the Holy Spirit and carry the believer forward.  Christian sailors must actively set their sails through trust, prayer, and attitude to navigate life’s storms and reach spiritual goals, rather than being directed by circumstances.

I hope you enjoy the Sail of Faith blog and that our weekly posts will help Christian sailors become better Christians.
